Local means we turn up, and we come back if you need us.

Q.01How much does a carpenter cost in Surrey?
It depends on the job. A single fitted wardrobe is very different from a new staircase or a run of alcove units. SG prices the job after a free survey, so you know the cost before any work starts, with no surprises on the invoice.
Q.02How long does fitted carpentry take?
Most fitted wardrobe or alcove jobs take a few days on site once the design is agreed; larger joinery like staircases or media walls can take longer. We confirm a realistic timescale in your quote after the survey.
Q.03Do you cover areas around Godstone?
Yes. We're based at 27 High Street, Godstone, and cover Caterham, Oxted, Warlingham and across Surrey, within about ten miles of our Godstone office.
Q.04Do you use your own carpenters or subcontractors?
Our own carpenters. Carpentry and joinery are done in house — the same SG carpenters who survey your job carry it out and hand it over. Where a job reaches into another trade we bring in a trusted specialist and manage them, so you deal with one firm start to finish.
Q.05Are you insured?
Yes. SG carry £5 million public liability cover and £5 million employers' liability cover, and we can provide the certificates before work starts if you would like to see them. It is a fair question to ask any builder and you should not have to chase the answer.
