Carpentry and joinery
Our own carpenters handle first and second fix: floor and roof structure, studwork, door linings, skirting and architrave, then the finish work you actually see. Bespoke joinery, fitted storage and staircases are made to suit the opening rather than ordered to a standard size, which matters most in older Surrey housing where nothing is square.
Roofing, all aspects
Pitched and flat roofs, full re-roofs, slipped tiles and storm damage, along with the roofline that goes with them — fascias, soffits, guttering and leadwork. A roof is usually found rather than planned, so we look at it, tell you whether it needs a repair or a re-roof, and price both where it is a genuine choice.
Plumbing and heating
The pipework behind a kitchen or bathroom is ours; boilers, gas and heating systems are carried out by the heating and gas specialists we bring in and manage. That way one firm stays answerable for the whole job, and the paperwork for the gas work still comes from the engineer who did it.
Painting and decorating
Preparation is most of it: filling, sanding, caulking and priming, so the finish lasts rather than looks right for a fortnight. Interior and exterior, brush and roller or spray where the job suits it. Decorating is one of the trades we bring in and manage rather than employ directly.
General building
Brickwork, blockwork, plastering and the structural work behind an opening — the part of a job nobody photographs and everything else depends on. It is our own team, and it is why we can hold a programme instead of waiting on somebody else’s diary.

We keep the home side close to the office: Epsom in the north-west down to Crawley in the south, Westerham across to Reigate, and the villages between — Lingfield, Edenbridge, Bletchingley, Tandridge, Nutfield and the rest. Close enough that if something needs looking at after handover we can be back the same week, which is the whole point of keeping it tight.

Q.03Do you quote before starting work?
Always. We come out and look at the job properly first — that survey is free and there is no obligation. The price is put in writing before anything starts, never after. We price it once we have seen it.
Q.04Do you use subcontractors?
For some trades. Our own settled team does the building work — brickwork, carpentry, plastering, groundworks, and kitchen and bathroom fitting. Specialist trades such as electrics, decorating and fencing are brought in and managed by us. Either way one firm stays answerable for the whole job, from the first survey to the final handover.
